Lit Sing Gong Temple Bell from the old Darwin Temple that was destroyed in 1974 during Cyclone Tracy. Made of cast iron in 1887.

The Chinese reads:

Hall of the Ranking Sages

Wind is regulated and rain is compliant.

Peace and security for the citizens of the country

[Wind and rain follow nature's dictates as do we the people and the city:

May the state and its citizens enjoy peace and calm.]

Respectfully presented by Tong Quing Tang

on the Auspicious Day and month of the 14th  reigning year of Guang Xi

(second last Emperor of the Ching Dynasty c1887).
