Chinese temple bell at Gordonvale Bowls Club.
Mary Lowe, CADCAI: "We believe the bell was originally from the Cairns BakTi Temple. How it came into the possession of the Gordonvale Bowls club (according to them) was that it was given the former president of the bowls club in [1927] by a Chinese person. A few years ago a person by the name of Geoff Morton at the Club wanted the bell returned to the Chinese community but others the club wanted to keep it it. As you can see the bell has been re-painted and re-purposed - it is hangs in the clubhouse and has a clap attached so it can be rung."
