As the community of tin miners declined there was a gradual closure of the temples in Northeast Tasmania and their contents are now part of the Guan Yin Temple Launceston.

"Their main centres, where they erected Joss houses, were Moorina and Weldborough, where many of them lived, also at Garribaldi there was another large camp and Joss House."

"As I returned to Branxholm I called in at Fancy Flat, the Chinese camp, it is quite a village. Ah Moy has a store there, and there is also a Chinese boot and shoe maker. Whang Pow, the Chinese missionary, pays Fancy Flat monthly visits to enlighten the Celestials, but with what success I cannot tell." AKA Ruby Flat
